Starting pre-op testing... was surprised by my PCP
Am now within 20 days of my surgery dates. Had my preop testing appointment at my PCP, havent talked to him about having surgery (since I'm self pay).
Im pretty reserved with letting people know why I'm having testing done ... telling them preop for surgery, but not bariatric. Just to avoid having to listen to someones opinion. Anyway, the initial nurse did my EKG, blood pressure, HR, etc and when finished said "good luck! cant wait to see you at your next appointment! going to look awesome" ... was surprised! I appreciated that. I told her I'm going to come in looking like The Rock ;P
A student came in that is working at the doctor office and asked me some questions, about the surgery, etc. Then the doctor came in with the student and he was like "so youre pulling the trigger huh? awesome!" and we talked about it a bit. I explained to him how my brother passed away from this surgery so its kind of nervewracking for me. All in all, he seemed like he was on board. Had only positive comments and things to say. I was pretty much dreading going in and having to listen to anything bad lol
Got my labs going... went and did my chest xray.
One thing that caught me off guard, a poop test? Ive never heard of that for a person. Only for pets lol

Well, they are certainly being thorough
I didn't have the fecal occult test, but I have regular colonoscopies due to a history of colon cancer. The poop test isn't a bad idea since MO people are more prone to colon cancer than the normal population.
