possible stupid question

So, I am very strict with the no drinking for 30 minutes after I eat food.  But, I just took a chewable calcium and proceeded to chug some Lipton Diet Green Tea.  I never thought of it before, but should I not be drinking when taking my chewable vitamins?  BTW, I take Bariatric Advantage 500mg chews.  I highly recommend them, since they are delicious.

First - there are no stupid (or even possible stupid) questions.

Second - IDK - but someone else will.

Drinking with vitamins doesn't matter as we aren't worried about feeling full with them. The reason we have that rule with meals is to keep food in our pouch a bit so we can feel satisfied. Once we start to drink food begins to empty out and then we may begin to feel hungry.

The idea behind "don't drink right away" is that you want your food to hang around your stomach and let you stay feeling full. Pills and chewables can pass right through. :)

Thanks friends.  I only asked because I know we have absorption issues and wondered if pushing them through would make it worse.

Any vit in particular or across the board ab issues?

I used the Patch vitamins for about 6 months and they worked well for me. I use the nasal B-12 so I have never had a problem with that. The gummy chews (I loved them - tasted like candy) but they gave me terrible stomach pains.  Now I use the cheap-ass chalky Bari Advantage ones and think of them as desert - how sad is that.  But my labs are good except for vit D, of which I have to add a dropper to my yogurt every now and then.

Stay on top of this because long term, 87% of RYNers have low labs at the 10 year mark.  (I haven't seen data on VSG)

I was thinking about the calcium, in particular.  I take Bariatric Advantage 500mg chews and I'm happy with them so far.  They are pricey, but they taste good which motivates me to actually take them.  If I had to take a pill, put on a patch or chew some nasty chalky thing I'd be much more likely to "forget" them.

Hey Deanna where do you get your bari advantage calcium chews?  From a store or online? I also take those and I get mine online from Vitacost but thought since I am in the US until Saturday if there is a store I can go into and stock up I will.

Thanks!!!
