Way way off subject...Brooklyn Grape

So I grew up here in California...My family grew wine grapes for a living.  Some were good varietals and some poor (think Italian Swiss Colony).  I'm retired now...But still enjoy playing with fruit and nut trees and grapevines.  So at the local junior college I picked up a Brooklyn Grape.  I planted it two years ago.  Last year, no fruit...But this year there are grapes!!  Just wondering what this grape taste like??  I have never heard of this variety. Can anyone describe the taste??  Thanks, Brian

No clue. My dad has lots of good stuff from rural Oregon in his yard but I've never heard of Brooklyn!

Brooklyn is not a part of the Bronx, but at least the Bronx has a zoo.  I can't imagine that either borough really has enough dirt to grow much of anything that needs more than a window box.  From my last trip on the Cross-Bronx Expressway, I would think A Bronx Grape would taste of exhaust fumes.

Seriously, I hope it taste better than that.

Looks like it's a hybrid with the taste of Concord and the texture of Thompson. Sounds like it'd be good for juice.

A local nursery can probably point you in the right direction. Does your county have a master gardeners program? That's another good place to start.
