Fat Bashing or Funny?

one thing I've learned about HAES is that there is one group of people who strive to be as healthy as possible in their current weight

then there's this more vocal group that tries to convince people that being obese is healthy

one makes sense and has interesting ideas and research backing them

the other is just plain crazy

Yup. HAES is more believable if you can, for example, do a mile in under 15 minutes, not so much otherwise.

Beauty at any size I agree with completely. But healthy when morbidly obese? It just isn't healthy, and never will be. Not remotely.

I find it in poor taste because it doesn't make sense. Even if the aliens wanted to eat us, why would they want all that fat in their food? I hate fatty meats, and lean meats are considered healthier. I also object to the use of the word "fat." You go to the gym to get fit, not necessarily thin. Thin people can be unfit too.

Now, if it was zombies and the message was that the out of shape will get eaten first; that would make sense and would not bother me.

To me it's stupid.  If they want to lure the unfit and over weight to their business then why make fun of them?  Have they forgotten their target audience?   I know if I was still obese this is not a place I would want to give my money to. 

I had to pick my mouth up off the floor. Yes it's fat bashing, & yes its stupid & its advertising for a gym, that doesn't make it ok & I don't need to chill. It's just like someone else mentioned if you took out the word fat & substituted it for any other group it'd be just as bad.

If it was a cosmetics ad & they said they'll take the "old ones" first, save yourself!, buy this cream!
