i have never been this nervous before in my life. Surgery is tomorrow and my stomach is in all sorts of knots, anxious and stress. To top it off I feel a migraine coming on because of it. Ugh. Fingers crossed I can calm down enough to get thru tonight and be ready in the morning

I spent the night before mine getting organized for my return home. We had jello in 2 oz. cups in the fridge etc. The initial liquid stage seems to take forever. It will pass quickly.

LET YOURSELF HEAL. It will take twice as long for the inside to heal than the outside wounds on your stomach.  Water is your new best friend, at least for awhile.

Sitting up and standing will help with the pain after surgery. They will try and get you walking soon after. You may go up in weight initially. If you take this time (your honeymoon) to retrain yourself to think of food as energy only. No emotion about food at all is what I aimed for. It's a business transaction.

There is no "before and after", there is only, "before and during".

It's worked for me so far. Good luck!

I like your philosophy, Gary! That is such great advice! I will have to take that advice also.

My thoughts and prayers will be with you today. I completely understand how you are feeling because I am starting to get nervous about mine also. I know we both can get through this with flying colors though.

Chelsey,

Thoughts and prayers -- I was where you are 16 years ago almost to the day, and I'm here to tell you that it will be okay.

Gary's right -- take the time you need to heal, and don't rush from one stage to the next.  I honestly never thought there'd be a time in my life when I'd be craving Cream of Wheat, particularly the watered-down, runny, disgusting kind -- let alone want to eat it.  But I was.  But I did.  And I lived.

Best wishes in the days ahead -- welcome to the other side.
