Awesome 24 hours

Yesterday was our first Daddy-Daughter dance!  My daughter has been looking forward to this all school year.  Her grandmother is an amazing seamstress, and made her dress.  I got a new shirt and tie to match:

Before the dance, I took her out to dinner.  When I asked her where she said, "Olive Garden, because it's a romantic restaurant."  That is probably my least-favorite post-op restaurant, but I did find a baked tilapia with Parmesan-crusted zucchini meal on the menu (only 450 calories for the whole thing), so it wasn't too bad.  

Then it was off to the dance.  We got our picture taken by the photographer (I can't wait to get those back), did a little dancing, and then took a horse-drawn carriage ride:

Then it was a lot more dancing, and snacks, and finally at 8:45 (the dance was supposed to end at 9), she was just too tired to go on.  She had so much fun, and so did I.  

Then, this morning, my weight was at 191.0, a new low!  About six months ago, my weight got back up to about 205, and has been really steady around there, but in the last few weeks I've been working really hard, and watching what I eat really closely, and it's paid off.  We went on another family bike ride this morning, and it's been a great day so far.  Last weekend we had almost blizzard conditions, and this weekend it's already almost 70 degrees and beautiful.  It's shaping up to be an awesome weekend.

Awww... it sounds like a magical night both of you will always remember. The pictures are great. The smiles tell everything. I love when you talk about your family, you can tell how important they are to you. Great job Dad!

That's a golden memory Bill. I have such great memories of a father daughter dance. Before you know it, you'll be sitting on the porch with a shotgun, watching for boys. (Remember, always dig the hole first).

Congrats on dropping a few pounds, and all the family activities. I've said it before, and will say it again: you're a lucky man.

Your daughter is adorable and looks so beautiful in her dress!  Thank you for posting this, it really made my weekend.  My nephew takes his 2 girls to a daddy-daughter dance every year, and they start looking forward to it in the fall of each school year.

Beautiful! Thanks for sharing. It brings back memories for me..  I remember my husband taking our daughters to these.  Now our oldest is getting married.  Time flies. Enjoy these special times.  They're so awesome!
