"Obese." I've always hated that word. It just sounds derogatory, but it has been my "label" for my entire adult life. Shortly before my surgery, I learned that a new version of that title had been created in recent years and it fit me: "Super Morbidly Obese." Cringe...

Today, I am just "Overweight" and my BMI has finally slipped under 30. I still have a personal goal that I am working on to be in the "Normal" range, but for today, I will take "Overweight".

Note: In a USA Today article yesterday, they stated that, according to the CDC, the average woman is 166 pounds. So, in that regard, I was thrilled to realize that I am now "better than average". (Said in a Tongue-in-Cheek manner. I don't really think I am better than anyone...)

Wow there... You allow your weight to define better or worse? Better than average because you weigh under 166?

Please reconsider that statement..

We allow the number on a scale define us... Don't do that to yoursef or others...

That was reading way too much into my post. I don't expect you to know my personality, but that statement was very much Tongue-in-Cheek.

Congrats! You look amazing! 166 pounds is the average for American women. I was really excited when I passed that point to! But I also found it frightening to realize how many Americans are overweight.
