Counting calories after weight loss surgery

I am 7 years post RNY.  I kept a daily food journal for the first 3 years and since then I journal daily for 2-3 months twice a year.  My Bariatric maintanence plan calls for 1200-1400 calories a day - but I need to be 1200 or less to maintain my goal weight.

I count calories, grams of carbs, grams of protein and ounces of fluid.

I've gained 7 pounds in the last year and have been journaling daily since January.  I try to keep at 1000-1100 calories a day, 80 grams or less of carbs and 80-100 grams of protein.

When you write down every bite - it really makes you look at food labels and I often (especially empty calories) decide not to eat something because it is too many calories or too many grams of carbs and I don't eat it or choose something with more protein.

I need the accountability.  It works for me.  Hope you find something/someone to be accountable to.  I know from past experience that without accountability - I just keep making bad choices.

Best wishes,

Penny
