weight regain after gastric bypass?
You have already taken the hardest step by saying enough is enough and now I want to get back on track. Here are some steps I hope will help you. They helped me... Also, be sure and join the Back On Track Together group.
Planning/Preparing
Remember when we were preparing for surgery? How many meetings, classes and such did we attend? We were told the more prepared we were the better our chances were for success. And they were right. Go through the house, car and work place and get rid of trigger foods. Stock up on foods that will keep you on track. I removed every bad carb/sugar temptation and replaced it with lots of protein, veggies, grains and fruits.
Journaling
Get back to journaling. This will help you identify when you feel like eating, stress factors and any triggers in your life. Once you identify these factors, this will help you put tools in place to keep you from eating. It became clear I was not taking time for me anymore. I worked my day job and then spent the rest of my time caring for my husband. It was easy to reach for fast, prepackaged food. Since I purged my home I have to eat clean as there are no other options LOL
Use a tool to track you're eating and exercise like Getting Started with Health Tracker. Once I started to track ever bite and drink it became clear why I had gained.
Goals/Rewards
Make a list of goals for yourself. Make them realistic and small. Some of mine were move more, purge all junk from my home, eat more protein.
Food
In general, a long term post-weight loss surgery eating plan includes foods that are high in protein, and low in fat?, calories, and sugar. Important, vitamins and minerals are provided as supplements. (if you had a different surgery adjust this to your food plan).
Water
Water is our Best Friend. I have to say I never went back to pop or any bad drinks, however I was drinking tea like crazy. What is wrong with drinking tea? I was either using sugar or 3 equals and 3 sweet n lows per 32 ounce glass. So I was either pushing to be diabetic or get cancer. I found once I started carrying a bottle of water around 24/7 (yes had one at my bedside) I lost the cravings for the sugar and I KNOW those artificial sweeteners are not good for me. Look I am old and if you add up all the artificial sweeteners I have consumed I am sure I am at the rat in the lab getting cancer threshold.
MOVE!
I can't say enough about how key this was for me. The reason I kept my weight off for almost 10 years was no matter what, I kept moving. If I could not go to the gym I would walk. I loved Zumba, bootcamp workouts, lifting weights. When I stopped, the weight started coming back. So for me I am starting slow to avoid injury by walking and using some of the workouts on my Demand TV. Find something you love to do and it won't feel like a pain in the *** to do daily.
Support
If it's an option "run" don't walk to a support group.
Keep me posted on how you are doing

I'm not sure if I'm understanding the "I cannot and do not wish to hear the exercise and drink more water stuff, although good for you its not necessarily a daily availability for me with my current job" part of your post. Do you mean that you know what it takes to lose the weight & you're just looking for moral support? If so I wish you the best of luck & hope that you look into therapy & help with the mental issues so that you don't turn back to food again to cope.
Its good to have goals, but you might want to give yourself some leeway when it comes to losing the weight in 2 months. It sounds like you have a lot to deal with & you might need more time than 2 months.

I certainly hope you don't send your words of criticism and diagnosis to everyone you respond to? My point in that statement was all that I didnt wish to hear of any offers for programs I had to pay for or memberships to join or special foods to eat.. I am not stupid nor am I in denial of my cir****tances. I am aware that movement is necessary and I am aware tha****er is essential but I don't need someone passing judgments on others that doesn't know the cir****tances? nor really care..
I don't know what words of criticism you heard. You said you didn't want to hear about exercise or water, etc. I didn't realize that you get multiple offers for memberships that you'd have to pay for, nor advice on special foods. That is no where in your original post.
I'm not passing judgement on you, if that's what you saw, then that's your interpretation. I just wasn't sure if your post was to seek advice on ways to lose the regain, or you just wanted moral support as you lost it.
You should probably still look into therapy.

There was absolutely no reason to be snippy with T Hag. She said nothing harsh, but I am going to. I believe that real support comes from honest and cold hard truth. SO, here it is.
It seems to me, judging by your posts, that you have been dealing with your inability to manage your post op life for quite a while. Everyone loses weight during the honeymoon period, but to remain successful beyond the first 18 months, you have to drink you water, eat your DENSE protein (since your previous posts show that you are still using protein shakes), measure/weigh your food and log it. Over and over again, you've refused to do these things -- and then post again that you want to lose your regain ... or that you are considering a revision ... or that you need support.
There's nothing to support if you aren't willing to make the changes necessary to reach the goals you desire. Everyone has things to overcome, life stresses, deaths, jobs that are rough. To stay compliant long term isn't easy, which is why so many people have appreciable regain. People like yourself.
That said, the definition of insanity is continuing to do the same things over and over again but expecting different results. Why do you think doing things like you are now is going to result in a loss of 25 pounds a month when it hasn't in the last 4 years?
I hope you will consider using the honest responses here to reach your goals of losing your regain. Unfortunately, there's no magic solution other than going back to the basics of weight loss surgery eating.
In any case, I wish you luck.

Who pissed in your protein shake? You said you didn't want to hear about exercise and water. T responded, and you backpedaled with a flimsy, punk response about how you did not want to be hit up with offers for memberships and other chicanery.
Who in the damn hell here did that? No one. There is no magic available by delivery via the Flying Monkeys. Eat less, lose weight. It is simple but not easy.

If you don't want to hear the standard "eat less, move more, meet your water/protein/etc. goals," you're going to get silence.

I read your posting history. Seems like you've been struggling with regain for several years with no resolution.
Good luck.

Exercise has played a tiny role in my loss. I move to keep everything limber and it feels good to be active.
What type of job do you have that you cannot increase your intake? Whether or not you want to hear it, drinking water will help, if for no other reason than to alleviate thirst you may be mistaking for hunger.
