Glad you are on the mend!  So much cardiac is truly related to genetics.  Doing all the "the right things"....does not guarantee you will never have problems.  Be well:):)

So I never smoked, almost never touched alchohol, did not drink coffee, stayed on my diet, did great at all my medical checkups and watched the stress, salt and sugars.

I made sure I exercised and usually went to sleep by ten o'clock. So now I am recovering from open heart surgery because my arteries were blocked and my heart was not getting enough oxygen.

I was born with extremely small heart arteries that clogged up like if I had been living on bacon cheeseburgers and chocolate milkshakes. The good part is that everything else is healthy and I am getting better??

In about six weeks I should be able to do most things again. I am glad they found and the blockages and fixed them.

With you being healthy & active, how did you know you needed a heart bypass?

Was it some test results or maybe getting out of breath while exercising that led you to visit  a doctor to check things out?

thanks,

I was so sorry to hear about this--such a hard experience, and I hope you recover quickly and thoroughly.  I had wondered why we had not seen your always-supportive voice on the forum lately.  I trust that you have supportive voices--and supportive hands--surrounding you during your recovery.

I am glad they caught it, but sorry that you had to go through that!  I am keeping you in my thoughts for a good recovery, White Dove!

I follow a ketogenic diet post-op. I also have a diagnosis of binge eating disorder. Feel free to ask me about either!
