Three Weeks Post Op - 25 Pounds Down
25 pounds is a LOT of weight in three weeks, especially when you consider that you probably gained about 10 pound of water weight during the surgery and immediately after. I was so happy to have lost 14 pounds the first month, that 25 pounds seems amazing to me.
5' 5" tall. VSG on August 4, 2015/ Starting weight 239.9/ Surgery weight 210.9/ Current weight 137.4/ Goal weight 140/ No longer overweight, now a NORMAL weight. Now that I'm at goal, it's time to move on to maintenance!!!!!!!!
Kim,
Keep in mind at the very worst of your weight gain, you NEVER gained 25 pounds in three weeks. Your body is doing a fantastic job to drop 8 pounds a week at the start of your journey. IF you follow your plan your weight will come off according your body's willingness to let it go. YOUR journey will be different from all others. Celebrate each pound lost. Now be kind to yourself. You're doing great at this moment. Keep your attitude positive and you'll hit your goal at YOUR PACE. And remember, in case your loss slows down, that slow progress is STILL progress.
Good luck.
Ok so what number were you looking for?

The cake is a lie, but Starbucks is not.
So let's do some quick math, you were about 300lbs and you want to be 150... You wanted to loose 40lbs in 3 weeks? So almost 1/3 of your goal in just 3 weeks?
So... It dosnt work like that or every person would have this "magic sugery" done. It's not magic it's hard work, please talk to your doc, nut, and psych and set some realistic goals. This way you can work towards weight loss which is obtainable and psychologically reasonable.

Your expectations are totally UNREASONABLE. Your doctor should have been more clear with you before surgery that you need to follow directions and your body will drop the weight as it will.
You might even need to see a counselor to get things in perspective because 30 pounds in a month is terrific - twice as much as I lost.
If it helps you - the rate at which you lose weight has nothing to do with your ability to keep it off. Just follow all the post-surgery intructions.
