Hi Everyone! Newbie ready for her new life to begin!
I just wanted to start a post and introduce myself. I'm Pamela, live in Oklahoma, just north of Oklahoma City, and am about to embark on RNY surgery.
I've finished all of the requirements set forth by my insurance company (full blood draw, EKG, PFG, Sleep Study - which I failed and now own a cpap named Horton ;) , PT class, psych eval, and 3 NUT classes. My insurance doesn't require any pre-diet requirements, which is good for timesake I guess... I have BCBS of TX.
I'm now in the waiting stage. All of my paperwork was submitted to my insurance company 2 weeks ago, and I sit here in anticipation, every.single.time.my.phone.rings... hoping it's the Doc office calling to tell me it's time for my preOp! Ugh... this part is the hardest so far! Anyone out there have BCBS of TX? And if so, how long did it take them to do the final approval?
My doctor is Dr. Ronnie Keith out of Norman, OK. I also have a close dear friend that is a bariatric nurse at the hospital, and she will be on duty when I have my surgery. I like knowing I'll have someone there that knows me taking care of me.
I'm very excited, very nervous, very impatient, and very very ready to get on with things! I think I've read every post on here for the last 6 months, looked at so many pictures, read recipes, etc. I'm ready!
If there's anyone else from Oklahoma, let me know! Thanks for reading!
Hi Pammie. Welcome! I had RNY just over 7 months ago and feel terrific! I look forward to seeing you around. Pop on over to the RNY boards and feel free to ask any questions that you may have.
I bet the insurance has already made a decision. If you call them, likely they will be able to tell you if you're approved. I got my approval after a few days, but the surgeons office didn't get it for well over a week.
Welcome Pamela! It's great to meet you. I'm also pre-surgery and wish you all the best.

I have BCBS UT Select which is a TX state insurance, they knew in two days of receiving it and sent the doc the anwder which take them to process it. They sent me a copy but I had just moved so it went there rather than here. Call um I did and it also gave me a chance to ask questions.
