I was just wondering did anyone have a problem getting approved because NP signed off on 6 month supervised weight loss...or does it matter? When that time comes should I just have both the NP and doctor sign off so there won't be any problems since she is helping with his case load.

YES!! My best friend was denied because she was followed by a nurse practitioner and not a physician. She had to redo the entire 6 months with a physician. Ask your insurance company explicitly what they require. If they say physician then that's what you need. I don't know if having him or her cosign the visits would be a problem, but I would get clarification.

Mine was an NP. No problems here.

This is a question for your insurance company. Every policy is different, and what has been OK for others here may not apply to you.

Call the phone number on the back of your insurance card and find out. Or better yet, get it in writing.
