OTC PPI (comparable to Protonix)?
In the midst of a move and unable to pick up my protonix until next Tuesday. I'll be running out of same tomorrow Any one use OTC meds for the reflux? If so, suggestions? Put a call in to Doc but this is surgery day. Thanks for any/all advice.

I don't know how comparable OTC PPIs are, but I know mine told me if I ever stop coming to him or if I move away, to be sure I keep using some kind of PPI even if it's OTC.
I'm no Dr., but it seems an OTC for a few days/weeks while you're unable to get your regular prescribed on would be better than nothing!
I was taking omeprazole (prilosec generic) before surgery and he switched me to pantoprazole (protonix generic). i asked if it was different or stronger and he didn't really answer me directly, just said he prefers pantoprazole for his patients, but that there's nothing wrong with omeprazole. I was under the impression that they are similar and he sticks with the same one just for continuity among his patients, but he didn't really say.
Stared at all the choices in Target, half asleep. This move is wearing me out. Will try something for over the weekend . . .as I only have 2 protonix left (for tomorrow). Thank you for your advice
