I LOVED this article and posted it on my FB page. I have only ever discussed my "fear of fitting" with a hand-full of people in my life.  Posting this on FB was truly a step out of my comfort-zone and a growth experience for me.  Bless all of us who have had these types of experiences and more.  Have to say, I don't get how people feel so free to treat anyone so poorly.

So we also need to remember to castigate the airlines for shrinking their seat sizes.  I "grok" maximizing profit, but come on...not everyone is built like Gwyneth Paltrow.

I didn;t know that you could get a seat extender of your own - I checked, they start at $10 on ebay.  I don;t need it (any more), but it could reduce stress for a friend of mine.

Thats so sad! My husband and I are flying Delta to Mexico in April for my Vsg and I booked our flight with an extra seat between us, praying no one will want to sit in the middle seat. But I have no problem speaking up for myself if someone does try to make a scene. Its sad some people treat overweight people like they arent even human and have no feelings. When I lose weight I surely intend to pay it forward to other overweight people, cause its difficult to live in a world where you arent wanted.
