Iron Infusion?

Hi! 

Has anyone ever had to have an iron infusion?  If so, what can I expect?

I just had my first round of iron infusions ( 2, a week apart) a few weeks ago. It took about an hour and a half. I got injectofer which has less chance of reaction and only requires 2 infusions, a week apart.

Thanks!  May I ask what your hemoglobin, hematocrit and iron levels were to get the infusion?  

at this point, the only thing low is my ferritin which was steadily dropping.....9

Hi there:

i have had two infusions so far (approx. 2 weeks apart). Waiting for blood test results to see what difference it has made. It took about an hour or so each time and was quite easy. I read a book while the infusion was happening.
