So, I've been looking thru peoples pages and trying to add people as a friend so that I could check in on their progress, and get some motivation from their success.

I feel like some people have accepted my sent request, and now it seems like I'm being unfriended lol.

I dont get it?

Seems odd...

Most of us do not have many friends on here.  We communicate through the public forums or private groups.  There is no real advantage to having OH friends

maybe they don't want you Che king in. On their progress. One can really do all the "checking in" one wants to by posting and reading on the forums.

Add me any time man, in fact I'll send ya a request now!

Over my brief few months here on OH, I've learned that many people here are either:

A- very opinionated

B- very private or shy

or

C- very open, friendly and willing to help

Just stick to finding the cool nice people and get help and advice from the quality posts and ignore the rest. In the beginning, I took everything on this forum to heart like it was golden advice from the heavens. Sadly, most things posted here are opinion or just new people looking for quick answers. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but it's sometimes hard to find the people who are in it to help others!

I think this is a great place to get advice and support.  You just have to separate the wheat from the chaff ...

There are some very knowledgeable people on here, who I would trust to give me valuable no BS advice.  It's easy to pick up on who those people are, if you're a regular visitor.

I've been here a long time and we've seen all sorts of weirdo****ting up the ladies or making friend requests to get access to pictures,

I have hundreds of friends but I don't accept requests from people I don't know from the boards.  There's nothing to be gained by being a friend, unless you Admin private groups as I do.

I usually do this for someone's profile that is set to "friends" only. Would be happy to have you as a friend

Do not take things too personal, Chris.   OH is much different than when your brother was here.    Most of the people who have replied to this thread came within the last few years and have no idea of what OH was prior to their initial entrance at that time.   Continue to ask for friends, but don't be surprised is some say no or don't respond.  While some don't find a use for it, others do.  It just depends on the person.

Terri's Ott's (one of the posters) brother was also here several years ago.   He was a very well liked man, who many of us came to love through OH boards and in person when we had events and get togethers.  Like your brother, he never left the hospital.   You both have "OH Angels" watching over your journeys now.  :)

Ya it does have a different feel for sure, not that thats a bad thing.

Hey, speaking of, what happened to the chatroom? I used to spend hours in there years ago. Tried to find it when I first came back and seems its gone?

Had a lot of good friends from there... I think "KathyOH" or something? I wish I could remember!
