Hala, your council and advice has always meant so much to me. I have several times looked at the last e-mail you sent me. It is amazing advice for a man whose learning only now, how to navigate this new life.

Compassion is the hardest thing for some people to express. I was taught by my children. And that allowed me to ask others for assistance with life's problems. You're as helpful and compassionate a person as I'd ever be lucky to know. Thank you.

Thank you Ashley. I hope you are well also. It's funny, I always associate you immediately with Oregon, instead of Europe. Take care of yourself.

I walked down the river that goes behind the home where this occurred this morning. It was quieter than description allows. It's usually loud with all of the birds whistling to each other. Today, nothing.

Thank you for the kind feelings and words.

I am so sorry for the family, the community and even this man. A family friend and fellow parishioner was senselessly gunned down during one of the university massacres in Montreal. I still cannot make sense of it. there is no way to rationalize tragedy. My deepest sympathies.

Thank you Kiri

My community will come together in unity. We were at a little league meeting today, and some of the sons and Fathers even shed a few tears together. It's close knit although the family in this was more isolated than most in the region.

I have been to your beautiful country several times, and love it more every time. I may be taking the family up there for good if a certain person is elected to our highest office. Cough Cough trump Cough.

We will all do our part to heal our communities. Just like our parents would expect us to do.

Have a safe day.

I'm a bit less than 30 miles south of you, and used to do a job that sent me into our most rural areas. Many of these areas had low income populations, and a lot of other problems that came along with that. The police are still fairly quiet about the details of what else was going on, but even when it's known it won't make it any easier to deal with. My heart aches for the surviving family members, as it would be horrible anyway, but having it be LIKE THIS, and on the news, would just be intolerable.

We are all here for you - those from OH that responded and those who are still lurking on the sidelines figuring out how to join the conversation.  Big hugs of support.

I saw thousands of Snow Geese migrating on Friday.  They inspired me with awe and peace.  I hope they can provide some of each to you, my friend. Sharon

Well, you and everyone else here are all special people. We all have ties like these birds. Some leading, some trailing. All going in the same direction, some slackers, some leaders. So mu*****ommon.

You're a good and loyal friend to me Sharon. I Thank you for that.
