I am not sure where to post this, but...

I am 11 years post DS and doing fabulous!

I am having an endoscopy and colonoscopy on Monday (not WLS related) and the prep is freaking me out!  Has anyone had experience with this and can provide feedback?

Thanks so much!

The prep is the worst part.  I made it taste a little better with Crystal Lite.  But it is still gross.  My sympathies.

First congrats on maintaining your weight loss.

Endo there is no real prep. Colonoscopy I haven't had since surgery, but I can say eating light the day before helped in the cleanout department. There wasn't as much there. Good Luck.

I deal with constipation - motility issues - so I needed to do a 2-day prep.. not fun.. but it worked for me.

99.9% of people  1 day prep is all they need. Not fun..but it works...

BTW: make sure they don't use the same camera...(LOL)

12 years post DS and still "in love' with it!

Colonoscopy prep post-DS was...strange. I drank the whole bottle of clean-out stuff, but didn't really poop much. But the procedure went fine, so I guess it just didn't SEEM like much.

So I'll answer what other's haven't LOL.... The scope down the throat, don't worry about that.  It's easy and no prep.  Now the scope up the bum, the pre work on that sucks.  You'll poo yourself until you'll think your brains are gone too.  However that's the only bad part.  When you arrive for that procedure you'll put put in a hospital gown and it a bed.  You'll roll into the room where it's done, and they'll ask that you roll on your side, you may be given enough medicine that you fall asleep before anything is done.  For me I was giving something that made me feel less care about the matter but I was fully awake.  I can honestly tell you that I did not feel anything except the person put their hand on my backside but I felt nothing else, no camera going in or anything in my lower belly area while they did their work.  I did get to watch it on the monitor and it was interesting and very clean LOL.  So while this one is a bit unnerving it's not much to worry on, I think I was back there about 15mins.  Then I was rolled out and I waited for the nurse to say I was awake and could get dressed.
