When your plan is thwarted...
So, my meal plan for dinner was shrimp with ****tail sauce. So after cooking for my kids, I thawed my shrimp, got them babies arranged on my high quality paper play, and went to the fridge to retrieve the ****tail sauce... wait, where is my ****tail sauce? I know I have some, I'm the only one in the house that eats it. It's nowhere to be found.
MY DINNER IS RUINED!
So I call my wonderful, hard working husband who is driving home 5 hours from a job he left early for this morning. The man who's working a 13 hour day to make sure he gets home for me, because he knows I hate top sleep alone. And I ask him if he's seen it. And he says that there is a chance that he may have tossed it because he thought it was old and it was "almost gone". So there I was, almost in tears, crestfallen because my dinner is ruined.
I didn't yell at him, though I really wanted to. I didn't cry, though I felt like I could.
I stood in front of the fridge and tried to figure out what to do. So then I made a romaine salad with sugar free, low cal dressing. I got over it, but I was shocked at how mad I got.
That's it, sorry for the pointless post. Just hought I'd share. I really hate having to change my plans.
Shrimp on the salad would have been good... But I feel your pain regarding the ****tail sauce. How disappointing.
Good job shifting gears and selecting a different good choice instead of grabbing comfort food out of desperation.
I never use sauce, condiments, or anything. No ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, nothing. Those things will disappoint you every time.
Unshackle yourself from the tyranny of oppressive sauces! Throw off the yoke of cruel condiments! Arise and eat your protein the way our forefathers intended it! You have nothing to lose except the crushing dismay of unadorned dinner.
I do like salt though.

My fridge and pantry are condiment overload and forget about the spices ...

There are two lonely bottles of condiments in my fridge from summer cookouts. I have no idea which summer they're from though. Do they go bad?
