I've again read the links that you posted.  I still don't see anything that supports or addresses:

"take it before exercising because the flexing of your bones helps it get absorbed."

I'm not trying to be obtuse.

It's obvious to everyone that exercise is great to keep your bones healthy.  No one denies that.  But whether it makes any difference if you take it before, during or after exercise is highly suspect.

You can take it with your multi, but if the multi has iron, you won't absorb the iron.  You only absorb 500mg of calcium at a time, so 2 hours apart on 500mg doses, and 2 hours away from iron.

Thank you Grim. You were the one who helped me to understand the importance of daily nutrient upkeep. You replied to someone that they were gonna be sorry if they kept forgoing their dailies.

I would bet that you most likely remember that exchange with that person. Someone once said you had been "checking" up on them. I had to tell them later that, "no, he wasn't checking on anyone, he remembers EVERYTHING". Thanks again.

P.S. I hope the good people of Boston like watching Isaiah Thomas play, as much as we did when he was a Husky. He was born about 5 miles from where I worked in Tacoma several years ago.

hmm this is interesting. I take calcium 3 times a day. 2 in the morning 2 at lunch and 2 dinner. I do take all my other vitamins as well. My iron I take every other day sometimes I have a really hard time taking them. But I have no choice. I don't skip. It's just hard to swallow them

I take my calcium citrate 500 mg. in the morning, at noon, then iron in late afternoon/early evening with vitamin C and then final calcium dose at bedtime.  Calcium is supposedly better absorbed at night and promotes relaxation -- especially when taken with magnesium -- so I like to think I am taking advantage of that.  I take my multi (no iron) with my morning and noon calcium doses and my D3 and B12 at noon.

Calcium promotes relaxation? You might want to increase your dose.

Worth pointing out that healthy boning also promotes relaxation?
