Pureed Food

My surgery is scheduled for Thursday, February 23, at 7:30 a.m.  I'm not concerned about full liquids during week 1 and 2, but I must admit that the pureed stage has me a bit worried.  Just the thought of pulverizing my food to the consistency of apple sauce sounds utterly disgusting.  I don't know what I will eat during that time.  Perhaps I will continue to eat the soup, sugar-free jello and sugar-free pudding and just skip over that phase.

I only pureed a couple of things because I didn't care for it either. I mostly ate cottage cheese, melted cheese, sugar-free pudding greek yogurt, refried beans, and eggface's ricotta bake. But some of these things may not be on your plan. I hope your surgery goes well.

I think I ate more "soft foods" during the puree phase. I'd mash a turkey meatball up and eat it with some sauce & ricotta to smooth out the texture. I ate chicken salad quite a bit, I ran the chicken though my Ninja and used mayo to help with texture. I also ate corned beef hash, oatmeal, etc.

I never pureed anything either.  I stuck to RTD protein drinks, refried beans w/cheese, lite and fit greek yogurt, chili.

There wasn't really much I could have that I would want to puree, I could have had thinned out mashed potatoes and cream of wheat but I chose not to, too many carbs.

I'm not cleared for meats, cheeses or beans yet, so I stuck with health wise cream of tomato soup with a teaspoon of ricotta or cottage cheese, pickled eggs yolks, egg drop soup, won-ton broth, bone broths, yogurt and protein drinks.

Like others have said, I never pureed anyhting.  The thought of pureed chicken is not appealing to me at all.  Lived on greek yogurt, protein shakes, and refried beans for a while.

I found that even though the food looked gross (pureed chicken, pureed beef) it tasted delicious :P

My program didn't have us puree either. We went from liquids to soft foods. But I'm with you. I'd gladly stay on protein shakes for a week, or two, or a month, before I'd put food in a blender.

I did not purée anything.

i did eat yogurt, pudding (made it myself with sugar free jello pudding mix, skim milk and some dry protein powder).

I made Baked Ricotta .... It is like the lasagna without the pasta.

I was allowed to have 'well-forked' tuna mixed with mayo.

I was only eating about 1/4 cup at a time ..... So 1/2. Yogurt in the morning, 1/2 can of tuna at lunch and 1/4 cup of Baked Ricotta for dinner ... The other 1/2 yogurt for a snack.
