Hey everyone, my name is Shane and this is my first post on here. I have my date booked to get sleeved March 17, can't wait!! I just wanted to post on here to start building a support group on here who can provide me with tips and help me along this life style change. A little about me, I'm 23, I'm a full time student living in Florida but I'll be moving to Alaska in May for a summer job. I'm 5'8 and weigh the most I've ever had in my life at 287. I'm a former football player so I have always had a big build. I just started a diet to lose 20 pounds before surgery. If anyone has any tips or ideas or input on anything I would greatly appreciate it!

Welcome Shane!

I am just down the road from you, in Gainesville. I had gastric bypass on 12/15/15. It has been one of the best things I could have done for myself!

The best advise I can give you, is to make sure you are 100% ready for this life changing experience! If your surgeon requires you to be on a pre-op liquid diet, just remember that it is only for a short time. You can make it thru it. You will not starve to death. Honestly the first 3-4 days were the hardest for me. Then it was not so bad.

Just stick to your doctors an nutritionist plan and you will do fine!
