I can't believe this!!!

So I had the gastric sleeve a little less than two weeks ago. Today I was watching the food channel for about an hour. Finally my husband came in and said "how can you watch food shows when you are only drinking liquids"? It occurred to me that I hadn't once thought about eating. OMG, how long does this last?

I also have a question. I am supposed to start mushies tomorrow. I am supposed to have three oz. three times a day. Am I still supposed to be drinking my shakes? I know each doctor is different, just let me know what you did please.

Thanks,

Donnamaria

I could not get enough protein from mushies and stayed on my shakes

Yup, you need to continue with your protein shakes.

The freedom from constant food thoughts for me comes as long as I 1) stay abstinent from sugar and flour and 2) make and keep a daily plan of eating, often preparing food ahead of time and 3) make eating "off plan" a no no and non-negotiable.

I still drink shakes almost 18 months out. Listen to your body. Measure out three oz. but don't fini**** if your pouch says you are finished. Signs you are finished may include any of these: runny nose, burp, belch.... and "I can't eat another bite" feeling... even if that bite is in your mouth spit it out...
