I got one right before surgery, still an awesome investment! Actually, I think this one was fairly cheap, like $40.

It's -6 degrees F in MA today, and I am snuggled in bed with my heated blanket and kitties.

Stay warm friends!

I invested in an electric blanket back in October, during my supervised weight loss phase.  It was a great investment!  I stay toasty warm all night long.  I wish I could wear it as clothing when not in bed.  Thank goodness I also have silk long underwear to wear when I'm dressed.  Being so cold all the time in so annoying and uncomfortable.

I was one of the people who didn't think would get cold.. I mean, it could be 74 in the house and there were times I'd be sweaty and uncomfortable.  Uh, not so .. lol, I crank my portable space heater to 80 and dress in long sleeve shirts and pants and I am comfortable. My nose and hands still stay cold though.. it's a surreal feeling, I wonder if in time it'll level out so the chill isn't so severe.

I am totally intolerant to the cold now. My electric blanket is one of my best possessions in the winter!!

I am the weird one ... I used to be cold when I was MO. Post op RNY ...I am almost always hot.. Unless I am sick..  My poor BF had to put up with 66 at night (or I can't sleep) and we compromise on 69-70 during the day.. When he is here.  My ok temperature is 68...

Added : and that on HRT... Whitout the hormons - it feels like furnace even when the house is at 66..

Summers are unbearable...

I'm with you. It's 63 in my house right now, and I'm in shorts and tee shirt. I had a blanket on last night, but only because it got down to 53. It was-10 here, without the wind chill. 3 degrees out right now.

OMG, Grim, I would freeze to death in your home.  This winter has been so uncomfortably cold for me, to the point it's painful.  I can't wait for the 90° temps of summer.

I really love my dual control heated mattress pad. That way I don't have to get into a cold bed.

I also have a heated mattress pad and LOVE it.  I turn it on about 15 minutes before I go to bed, and get to snuggle into a warm, soft bed at night.
