Chronic pain
I've taken lyrica and lots of steroids (which is a ****ty option honestly but necessary at time). I've also been on my share of narcotics over the last few years. But with my sleeve I'm able to take NSAIDs which I love but also limit for general precautionary reasons.

It has changed since you had surgery, they no longer recommend NSAIDS for VSG either...

I have found nothing that works. The doctors around here won't prescribe narcotics and I don't think I would like that on a regular basis anyway.

I had to go to a pain clinic.... Have tour bypass doctor refer u to pain clinic. I had a few really bad car wrecks and I have had a hard time. I am not able to take much of anything. My doctor has me on patches. Long acting meds don't work for gastric bypass due to absorption. The thing I do not like about the surgery is I am so limited when NSAIDS work the best!
Ugh. I'm dealing with this issue right now. I take arthritis Tylenol once or twice a day, along with my scheduled gabapentin, muscle relaxers as needed. I have tramadol as needed, but that only works sometimes. I just bought a tens unit of amazon, along with some coloring books for distraction, candles to promote relaxation, and sage smudges for the apartment because I'm desperate lol. I'm also looking into acupuncture if my insurance covers it.
Medical Marijuana? There are edible kinds, kinds you can put into tea and even supplement pill kinds that don't give you a high feeling.
Medical marijuana is legal here in Michigan. I don't use it or know much anything about it, but my mother in law has chronic back pain from MS and is seriously looking into it.
