I  can no****ch that show without crying. I stopped watching. It made me depressed and feel bad about  myself. It made me mad at some of the people on there who would not follow what they were supposed to do.

I talked to my therapist about it and she said well Susan you were not 600 pounds. I responded it could have been me. She said I would never have let that happen. I said to her it could have been me if my life had some major changes going on. My kids may have brought me food. My husband could have also.

It makes me so sad. I am glad that they show this on TV it could help someone else out there.

When people ask what was your breaking point on having WLS. Some days I can not post about it. I try not to forget about it. I just try to focus on the future.

Sorry for rambling and jacking your post.

YES!!! I watch that show religiously because the pre-op and post-op patients and their thoughts/habits are so relate-able to me.

I scream at the TV " But you cant do that post-op!!" a lot!!!

I really like how the majoirty of the patients get their act together and SUCCEED!  I love seeing the positive changes/getting the head on straight aspect of that show.

I watch it regularly. I dvr it. it makes me cry every single episode. I relate highly to them. when I started my pre op diet I was 422.7 pounds exactly. it was very hard to move or do anything at that weight. that was when enough was enough. I couldn't imagine being any bigger. I always used to fear 29 y/o. I had a grandma who was 420+ pounds and died at 29 yrs and 9 months old bc of her obesity. when I hit 30, I thanked the lord. just as I do daily now! w/o him I would have never found a way to have the surgery. granted I had to trek to Mexico to do so. but it saved my life and im down 91.3 pounds as of this morning!!!

I worry about people (of any size) who are considering WLS and watching the show.  They make it clear that patients need to modify their food intake post-op, but they don't give specifics - protein first, low carb etc etc.  And for RNY (which is mostly the procedure these people have), the vitamin/mineral supplement regimen they must follow.  Or I guess they don't do that as often as I would like.  It should be a mantra! So people who aren't familiar with the work required, don't get the info they need.  Hopefully viewers get it somewhere else.  Like here!
