You ever heard the saying "you gotta dance with who brought ya?"

You had RnY surgery. To lose weight you get to do it the RnY way. Not drinking with meals, eating protein forward, tracking , not drinking calories.

An old weigh****cher's instructor told me that saying. Whatever you lose the weight with that's how you can maintain and take off more weight. The good news is the RnY is a damn good dancer.

Even though most people don't recommend protein shakes - I still use them if I need to ....

I do have days that I am not hungry, or when I am sick, or when my pouch is irritated, or when... (add any other reason you feel yo may need more slide foods - like having ulcers...)

if I know that I had a few days when I really can't - or simply don't want to eat dense foods - i may chose a protein shake.. It is OK not to get 80 or 90 gr of proteins ever day. But- IMO - it is important to keep proteins intake at 50-70 gr for daily average...and when I know I am not getting enough...I will drink the shakes...

i.e. when I get iron infusions - I get bad belly cramps for a few days so eating solid food is out of the question... during that time i relay on easy to digest foods like protein shakes to make sure I get app 80 gr of proteins per day... Also when my pouch is irritated or I m on pain pills following a surgery - I may be able to eat one meal...- rest needs to be soups or protein shakes...

But when I try to lose weight and try to limit calories while increasing proteins and fats, and I don't want to be be hungry - protein shakes are the very last I would do...
