OK you herbalists...Help me with natural sleep!!
Not sure if this is "herbalistic" but I tried Alteril for a while and it worked for me. The problem? The huge horse pill smells nasty.

Is it an issue of falling asleep? Or staying asleep? Racing thoughts? Not physically tired?
I'm super skeptical of herbal stuff, since there's generally very little legit medical research to prove any effectiveness. If in doubt, I pop a benadryl (with longstanding doctor approval), or I have a prescription for a benzo to be used once in a great while.

Do not like to use meds and I do not want to take any more supplements.
I like to use guided imagery or meditation. There are a lot of different ones on you tube. If you are looking for something words or music, I find that binuaral beats will seem to help me get back to sleep.
I usually fall asleep easily then awake in the middle of the night.
Good luck

White noise is great too! My son doesn't sleep unless there's fuzz noise or thunderstorm on his sound machine. There are lots of good phone apps for noise and beats to check out, too.

Benadryl..
I have gazillion herbal remedies. None work as well as simple benadryl.
Good bed and pillows. Keeping the room cold and dark. No blue light. Some snack before bedtime to keep my BS stable (single serving of nuts for me).. No alcohol at least 4 hours before bedtime..
