I'm kinda worried. TY I am about 6 days post op.

The breathing tube caused me to be very sore and hoarse after any surgery I've had. Lasted a few days then went away.

The sore throat from the tube should be about gone in six days.  This might be sinus, a cold or flu.  I would gargle with sal****er and get it checked if it does not stop hurting.

Is is constant or occasional?

I learned that I get that feeling if I overeat - I do not get 'regular' heartburn or reflux, just a sore throat.

Now that I know, I avoid overeating.  DAH!

If the sore throat is a new development, and you don't think it is from postnasal drip (like from allergies or a cold), then it could be from reflux. That's where acid from your stomach flushes up into your throat and irritates the tissues.  Reflux sometimes develops in people who didn't have it before as a result of the Sleeve surgery.  It is often worst when you first wake up, and can even cause a tickle that makes you cough at night (but then again so does postnasal drip!).

Your doctor almost certainly put you on an acid reducing medicine like Prilosec or Protonix for the first few weeks or months after your surgery. Occasionally, however, a particular medicine just doesn't work for someone (Protonix, for example, does absolutely nothing for my reflux).

It's not an emergency, but is definitely worth calling your doctor within a few days if the sore throat does not go away.  You might need an increased dose or a change in brands.  Neglecting it for a long time can lead to more serious complications like a stricture, Barrets' esophagus, etc.

To this day I will get a sore throat if my reflux starts acting up.  I don't feel the typical "heartburn" that others do.

Take a couple Tums and see if that helps.  If it does, you probably have reflux and need to be on a PPI.  You don't want to mess around with reflux; it can cause permanent changes to the cells in your esophagus and throat that lead to cancer.
