I am 8 yrs out and gained back only 10 lbs. I started back on my original diet and went back to my blog for recipe inspiration. I also downloaded the Fitness Pal App on my iPhone and have been tracking everything I put in my mouth. 1 week, down 5 lbs! I am sooo full too! All of this protein is the key. I seemed to have forgotten that over the years. I am so glad I started saving my favorite high protein recipes years ago as I am using them daily now. Good luck everyone! Im happy to be back on board!

We see a lot of people several year out, have regained, and have no idea what to eat. If they had saved a food diary, the way you have, they could have gone back to a time they were losing steadily.

Good for you. Nicely done.

Thanks so much! I actually deactivated my account with My Fitness Pal app, free version & tracking everything I eat. It makes you more aware of what you put in your mouth when you track EVERYTHING! It's a new addiction instead of food! ?

Tracking makes a huge difference for me. I know I would be eating more if I weren't tracking. Unfortunately, most people just will not track, or just estimate if they do.

Imagine just writing checks everyday, without balancing your checkbook, with no idea if your account was empty?

I got in a lot of trouble not balancing my checkbook -- always estimated my balance, and always had to pay a lot of overdraft fees.

Nicole - Thanks so much for posting the link to your blog - I can tell it has a loads of delicious recipes.

Your post is an inspiration - I need to spend more time in the kitchen planning and cooking new recipes.  Eating the "same old same old" food all the time can be comforting, but it's good to add new things too.

Congrats on attacking your regain at such a small number - easier to lose a 10 pound regain as opposed to a 30-50 pound one.

Mary

Thanks Mary! I'm glad I saved all my favorite recipes. I tried them out on family & friends & if it wasn't an 8,9, or 10... It got tossed! So it's a great collection of low fat high protein recipes. I worked to hard to get these lbs off. Regaining NOT an option! Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels! Good luck!

This really highlights how different the paths to success can be. I would be willing to bet that there is not one single thing you eat that I would; and you would eat nothing that I do.

If the apocalypse strikes, we would never be fighting over the same food.

Hey Grim,

Just a heads up, someone switched your cool sunglasses picture, with a photo of President George H.W. Bush.
