Flu Shots ok?

It's that time of year again. My work is offering discounted flu shots, are these ok for us post-op people? I know that there are some medicines that we can and can not take. Thanks, have a great Thanksgiving!!

My doc's office said it was an ok fro post-ops. But when in doubt, call the surgeon's office. I am a "non-vaccine" kinda gal...freaky like that...so I will pass on it, myself, pre or post-op. Kathie 285/272/**224**/150ish??

I got a flu shot and pneumonia shot. When I get sick, it's nasty.

I just got my first flu and pneumonia shots last Thursday before I was discharged from the hospital. My surgeon recommended it and there was a standing order to provide them to anyone *****quested a shot. He said my joints might be a bit achy for a couple of days, but I didn't notice anything. My wife will not get the flu shot because she believes she became sick for a while after with a mild case of the flu the one or two times she has tried them (which was at least 15 years ago). So, everyone is different. You might want to ask your doctor's opinion, but if it is readily available I myself will consider it in the future.

i got one..i hope i dont get the flu i got it once and i get so sick when i get sick..i end up with broncitus after the flu.. so hopefully ill be ok..though im killing a wicked head cold right now..
