I'm with you 100%. I could have written each and every one of those things myself. I still remember my first trip through the grocery store after surgery when I didn't have to use the cart as a walker. I now park as far away from stores, malls, the office, etc. as possible just because I CAN walk in. I really used to be jealous watching people on TV walk and talk. That was impossible! It took my full concentration to walk and breathe. I'm the same way about referring to what I was. I was fat. I was tremendously fat. At the time, I would have called myself a 'big guy' and been lying. You don't start as a 'big guy' and lose 300 pounds. You start off as FAT. Great post, Eric C.

Ronnie well stated. Expansions on down side for Tek: Big and Tall: I was too big (and tall) for walk-in stores... KingSize was my ONLY resource. Well, Rochester Big & Tall if I wanted to spend a zillion $ on a shirt. Even at KingSize, I was becoming very limited as I was beyond the largest size on many (read: the best) items. Shoe Laces: When they came undone, my wife would bend and tie them for me... she wouldn't allow them to stay untied, I felt like a child having his nose wiped. This is when I perfected the "double-knot, loops over the tongue" technique that virtually guaranteed no untied shoes. Shopping: Synonyms: Painfuil, Sweaty, Exhausted. By the time I had my WLS, we were having our groceries delivered. Existence: Never felt like I wanted to die, liked life even fat, but it was a sedentary, different life. Expansions on up side for Tek: Words can't do it justice. My best day pre-op was far worse than my worst day post-op. Today, I have an annoying cold after days of terrible flu. Ok...i think that everyone has stated the fact Ronnie "you are the man". I needed that today more than anything. I am in the waiting stage of approval. Papers were sent in on Thursday and still waiting, its killing me. I seem to get more and more depressed every minute. Thinking the phone is going to ring to the sound of the 2 words I want to hear.
