Your second bullet  (i survived a ... I deserve treat) describes me to a T. It never dawned on me that *was* emotional eating....I always saw emotionall eating as crying/sadness/ despresion,based eating....not my 'l made it through the yellow light, let me treat myself to a donut'.

Brava, Julie!  A completely wonderful, authentic and humorous post.  Your son is simply adorable, but he's taking away precious time from you posting on OH.  Can't you lock him in a closet for a couple of hours a day?  I don't have children, so I'm not sure how the whole baby thing works  

I've got him chilling in his baby swing, gnawing on a stuffed triceratops. Good enough!

Baby swings are magical, aren't they?  They're like riding on the most wonderful, sparkly unicorn in the whole world.  I remember strapping my nephew into his when he was going aggro.

My mom insisted that she was going to buy me one, claiming they're a necessity. I wasn't convinced, but holy crap am I glad she did. This one has "soothing vibration," which makes me giggle, but he sure seems to like being jiggled!

Oh, man. Now I want a swing that has soothing vibration.
