"King of the hill" Buckley's funeral. Kahn used it as a eulogy. It seemed appropriate, given the dire cir****tances for the woman needing the WLS.

well the 1st thing I would say to you is don't feel bad about your thoughts and feelings there yours so own them and its ok your having them dont beat yourself up about them. And second I would say I am sure you love your mom very much and want what's best for her so support her the way you know how. Having someone to walk this journey with you will be awesome ?.

Yes, you are being selfish.  Her surgery and health will not somehow diminish your own.  And you'll have awesome experiences to share together.

You have modeled success for your Mom. She probably never thought of it as a real option until she watched you. There are 2 people I know who are going through the process right now of getting approved for surgery and I know part of the reason is they watched me lose. One is my friends daughter, and one is one of my very best friends....

Our feelings are our feelings... we just have to figure them out sometimes.

My sister and I have both always struggled with our weight, but Me more than her. I was always the "fat sister"... well I am now the thin sister, so I fully expect her to secretly be doing something drastic (she lives cross country from me so I don't always see her) or crash diet and show up skinnier the next time I see her. Families can drive us crazy...

You are a living, breathing role model.  You may have inspired people you don't know to investigate WLS.

You cannot stop people from following where you have led and it's probably not fair to hold it against them.

You may need to be content with being a LEADER, a veritable Pied Piper of WLS, rather a one and only one person you know who had the surgery.

Sounds like your Mom always put you though challenges!  I don't know your situation very well.  But to me it sounds like she put u through a lot!  You have nothing to prove to her just yourself!  You will do better in life you let that hatered go..... Become your own person for you and don't be like that person that put u down for years!
