Yeah, if you're burned out on eggs, IHOP can be tricky.

Coffee gets my vote...and maybe bacon.

Just order a side of bacon! I did that once, and I traded one piece for a few bites of my husband's breakfast to go with it. That way it's only one meal, and you won't have leftovers. One meal with a few more calories than typical isn't going throw you off plan.

I agree, bacon is always a good choice.  I don't eat out much, but when I do go out for breakfast, most places offer a thick slice of ham-so yummy!

Bacon. Sausage. Get a burger and eat just the meat.

I ordered scrambled eggs/cheese with ham, But I rarely tire from eggs.

Short of that I would have gotten oatmeal, or a burger.

I often will just ask for "a side order of meat" at restaurants.  At the local Chilli's I just order a plain chicken breast a la carte.  At IHOP you can probably get turkey breakfast sausage or something a la carte, or the like.  A bunless sandwich.  Etc.  I'd order a bunless burger with sliced tomato instead of the fries on the side, or the fruit cup.  Just eat 1/2 the burger and the fruit (if there's room).

I order sandwiches without bread all the time wherever I go, any dressing or sauce on the side.  Old Atkins trick, just with post-op portions :)

I follow a ketogenic diet post-op. I also have a diagnosis of binge eating disorder. Feel free to ask me about either!

I ended up having the egg white omelet and coffee. Was pretty happy with the way it tasted.  Coffee was good, service was horrible.  But we were a party of 12 on a Sunday afternoon and the place was packed.

I won't be going back there anytime soon.

Usually there's at least something that falls within plan at any restaurant, but the pancake batter in the omelets is a real bummer.

I probably would order eggs over medium with bacon, fruit on the side.  That's my go-to breakfast at restaurants.  I don't like scrambled eggs much any more.

I can relate. I am in Thailand right now and everything is so carb focused. I  doing what I can ordering seafood and chicken skewers. I've had cobb salad a couple of times but just picked at the protein. Fortunately I brought some protein bars and beef jerky with me to help with protein. Many meals have been included wirh tours and on boats with limitrd choices. Anxious about weighing when I get home, but figure I am doing the best I can under the cir****tances. That's what we have to do every day...make the best choice possible in the moment. Glad you found something that worked.
