No choices

So, today is my neices 14th birthday. She wanted to go out to lunch as a family,  and my sis in law asked if I had any preferences since she knows I don't eat crap.  I told her no,  that I could find something at any place she picked.

Boy,  was I wrong. She picked IHOP of all places.  I was on their website last night trying to figure out what I could have.  I know I could have eggs and meat, but I'm so burned out on eggs.

There is really nothing healthy served at this restaurant. Every salad is at least 900 calories,  no healthy entree options. It's crazy. I may just get a coffee and eat when I get home.

I still luv Ihop, but yeah everything is super sized there. I did like their colorado omlette, meat, veggies, cheese & eggs, my favorite.

I suggest picking the most protein dense item & take it apart. Eat the meat, leave the bun etc etc. Bring the leftovers home for dinner & if you want, whip out that portable digital scale & weigh the items right in front of her. She'll get the hint on how serious you are & she'll think about this the next time y'all go out to eat.

They use pancake batter in their omelettes.  Saddest day ever when I found that out :(

True Gwen!!! I was so grossed out when I found out about this many years ago. I order mine made with egg whites instead. I was told they don't add it to that?? Could've been a lie though lol

I stick to the Simple and Fit menu when we go here, but you are right choices are limited.  Most of them are high in sugar and not a viable option for RNY.  I agree with T-is Hagalicious, order a protein dense meal and remove the carbs and try to enjoy.
