Hey guys! I am 8 weeks post op and over the last 3 days my scale says I have gained 3 lbs! How is that even possible?! I have been following the plan! Keeping my carbs low (25g or less), protein high (60-90g), drinking my water, taking my vitamins, and working out! I hope it is jus****er weight and the "joys" of being a girl! Sorry just freaked out and annoyed!

Your weight can vary by 5 or more pounds on any given day. Water will even add fluctuations in your weight. It's over 8 pounds a gallon. And also, I didn't see if you count calories also. I think it's very important to track those as well.

I keep mine below 700 a day, as well as of the other things you mentioned. If you're sticking to the lifestyle like you know you need to, then let the lifestyle win out. Did you lose alot prior to surgery? Let your body reset and realign itself.

Glad you're doing good on everything else. smiley emoji.

Thanks! Yes I am keeping my calories under 700 too. I lost 21 before surgery and have lost 63 total so far. It's just scary. I feel like I am somehow going to be the one person that this didn't work for. It's just hard to imagine what it will be like.

I fluctuate up and down a few pounds every week. I'd I hey a little constipated it makes the scale go up,  when I finally am able to go it helps the scale move back down.  Overall I've lost a total of 99 pounds.

If you're sticking to plan and the calories and carbs are low,  you'll start to lose again.  Hang in there.

Edited to fix some silly auto fill crap from when I posted using my phone.

The "joys of being a girl" seemed to impact my weight a lot more post-op than they did pre-op, or maybe I was just paying closer attention. At one point I gained 2 lbs one week, stayed there for over a week, then dropped 6 lbs in a matter of days, all from water weight.

WhiteDove suggested TrendWeight.com to me awhile back, and I track my weight (almost) daily there now to help see the forest for the trees (it has to sync with a FitBit account, but I just log my weight manually at FitBit's website then check out TrendWeight). Here's my graph of actual readings vs. weight trends, which shows that my loss has been anything but linear, lol.

Never ever let the numbers bother you, Even when you are nothing losing weight you could be losing inches.

Stay off the scale! Weighing every day is an excellent way to make yourself crazy. It's normal for your weight to fluctuate.
