When did you start eating them?

And if you did what brand would you recommend.

I start the green light for soft foods, and I am foo looking forward to chicken and fish. I was wondering about a taco with corn tortillas. Th epros and cons anyway.

I don't.  Too many carbs.

Since you're starting on soft foods and early in the weight loss process, I would avoid them entirely.  You can eat the guts of anything in a taco without the shell.

Just say no until you hit your goal.

They are useless carbs...with very little vitamins.

They also may start you on a slippery slope of craving more carbs and stalling your weight loss.

I do believe that you should talk to MaryGee (she is very nice). It was a low carb tortillas (I believe) that derailed her.

JUst say NO!

Corn is basically pure sugar. I'm 5.5 months out from surgery,  and I will not lie and say I haven't had them,  but I found I had a problem stopping them.  They chew down to mush and you can fit a whole bunch in our tiny little pouch if you chew well.  I haven't had a corn chip in 2 months because they call to me and it's dangerous for me to eat them.

if you are looking for a substitute for a taco shell, nuke a slice of cheese (or melt in a pan) like you were going to make a cheese crisp and drape it over the handle of a wooden spoon while it's malleable to hold the shape.. then fill it up.

I wouldn't consider it a soft food though.

I avoid anything corn. And I'm from Alb. N.M.!! It was almost a dealbreaker when I was researching this lifestyle. I still crave green chili enchiladas more than any other food. It was very hard to accept that my relationship with most of my beloved foods was to never be again. But, I am using my honeymoon to get to goal asap.

I avoid any carbs for that matter. I'm not at all suggesting this is what you should do, It's what I do. Good luck on your journey.

It turns out that corn products make me really sick. It's not quite dumping symptoms that I get, but close to it. I had corn chips once. Once. 'Twas not a fun evening after that.
