First, I had to go to the Seminar where I signed up for a Consultation. At my consultation my Surgeon discussed different surgical options and we decided on the Bypass. Based on his recommendations, I had to meet with a Dietitian 4 times within 4 months and have 2 rounds of Physical Therapy. The PT was good because I was taught exercises and stretches that I can do pre and post surgery to help with healing and losing more weight. I also had to meet with a Psychiatrist to make sure I was mentally sound and aware of how my life was going to change. They also want to make sure that you have a good support system for after surgery.  After that it was Labs, EKG and a Chest X-ray. In total it took me 7 months before I was able to submit my info to Insurance for approval.

It feels like I have been on this journey forever and I can't wait for this part to be over.

Good Luck! I hope you don't have to wait as long as I have...

Congrats my dear! That is a blessing!

I know you are excited and can't wait for your life to change.  That is how I was when I found out 8 years ago that my insurance approved my surgery.

God is with you and you will be ok. Your surgery will go well. Your recovery will be amazing...you'll be just fine!

Many blessings to you Melody!!
