I saw a question that I thought was someone's idea of a joke. The Mentors all lined up, and gave thought-out informed answers.

I saw that same question a few days later. Same response, same Mentor's.

If I see that question next week, my eyes will roll. A Mentor will start crafting a response.

Thank you for continuing the chain of Mentors here T. All these new names are now people I will watch for and it will give gravitas to their thoughts. The miracle of this place is staggering, once apparent to the uninitiated.

I'm glad you're a friend T.

I live near an in city park with some beautiful trees. It's on the water so you can walk around the beach and then up in the trees. I've often heard what I need to hear there. When I listen.

Thank you so much for sharing your story about your kidney. It is on my horizon also. My gfr was at 17 after surgery. But now it rebounded to 40. It was 28 prior to surgery. It was soothing to see someone else had faced this. Thank You.

Damn..40 is quite a rebound! My highest creatinine was a week after surgery. I was so sick and sure I had made the terrible choice my nephrologist thought it would be. As I lost weight my numbers got better. I stayed in the range of bad enough for a transplant and good enough to not be on dialysis for many years. That was a razor's edge walk. I ate  less protein than most RnY people and had to stay away from the potassium and phosphorus foods. I took less fat soluble vitamins and needed more iron.

I was reading a research paper that showed how losing weight can really improve renal function in some diseases including focal segmental glomular sclerosis..my particular beast.

My RnY bought me time and a kidney. Best of luck to you. Feel free to message me if you have any questions.

And I lived in sabino canyon for 5 years about 25 years ago. They had almost finished the highway through town. The airplane graveyard is cool. The best golf courses ever! I miss seeing that thing in the sky.....it's yellow, round, really hot. I forget it's name.
