Somehow Found Myself Back on OH
I stop by a few times a week. It helps me keep my head in the game to stay connected and if a few cautionary tales of mine, ramblings or recipes help make the road a little smoother for someone else that makes me feel good... I am thankful for Charlie, Lei, Teresa, Tooter, Kathy, missing some names (not enough coffee)... but so many vets whose advice and posts helped me navigate those early years... and the wonderful, lifelong friendships gained like yours xo my friend.
~Shell
I haven't been back in a long time. When the big OH meltdown occurred several years back, I left and didn't find myself here until now. But i'm grateful for those names you listed above (and you, of course!) because I remember them all and know most of them as individuals. I am grateful for that because it still keeps me connected, just through other means.
Love you, Shell!! Thankful to know you in pixels as well as in 3D.
I remember you, BritKim! I was more active from 2006 through 2009 (or thereabouts) and I definitely remember your name. I remember when the "grads" had to be at LEAST five years out and you couldn't interact on the forums unless you were at least 5 years -- then they started the group of 10 years plus and I just sort of gave up on being admitted to the cool kids club. LOL
Probably so. That's where my WLS interactions happen daily. The friendships that started here on OH, moved over to a different platform when life became a bit less centered around my gut and more centered around the things outside of my altered digestive system. :)
If you see me on FB, give me a holler. Might be nice to catch up, if you're interested.
My RNY was March 2009. I, like you, was very active pre-op and for about 3 years after - then my visits to OH were less frequent. I try to come to RNY and General Discussion boards a couple of times a week.
I like to read posts from those that are 5+ years out. I just got tired of typing the same old thing. I'm grateful for those that helped me in those early years.
I do find reading posts on OH help me stay focused and if necessary - get back on track.
Stop by every now and then and put in your 2 cents.
