Finally under 2
So I'm finally under 200 . . . 198 to be exact. I rarely weigh myself since I can pretty much tell with clothing (in particular, under garments). So why do I feel like I look like garbage? Geez . . . . .the hangy stuff is more than interesting.
I still have 48 to go and I'm sure that will come off too, as I keep protein first. Portion control isn't a prob, as my sleeve immediately lets me know when it's done (still about 3 oz. per meal at almost 6 months out).
Sadly, I'm totally dreading summer. Sweaters and coats, fleece lined jeans, cool weather hides the saggy belly. Compression garments just don't work for me. Advice and words of wisdom will be appreciated. Can't even consider surgery until atleast 18 months out.
The thought of a humid Maryland summer makes me cringe but on a brighter note . . . . I'm so excited about being under 200. I NEV ER thought it would happen, with or without the VSG!

Congrats on getting under 200 and yes, the sagging skin comes with that. I found that wearing bermuda shorts, capris and crops hide the sags on my thighs and elbow sleeve tops or tops with longish short sleeves help to hide my upper arms. I also wear Jockey skimmies #2019 in both summer and winter. They are longer than boy shorts and are so comfortable. They do not feel tight at all. They just smooth the sags. (I hate girdles, but these are differnent, because they do not suck you in. They just smooth out the saggy wrinkles. (I would just try one pair in one size larger than you normally wear to see if you like them). The pictures for them show them sitting below the belly button, but they actually come to the waist. You can try them on at Belks, Peebles, Macy's, any of these types of stores. I wear them with everything. Bermuda shorts, jeans, dresses. I had fillers to my lower face to fill in my marionette lines. I hear that after about 2 years things will have shifted around and filled in, so the sagging isn't so bad. I just plan on a neck lift then. The other parts are easy to cover. Stay cool in Maryland!
I understand about tying shoes - which I can't presently, or even put on socks. I'm trying to lose slowly and also trying to do some muscle building and using a skin firming cream to hopefully help with the sagging skin. A hard thing at my age of 62. I need to lose 68 pounds to be below 200. My goal is the end of 2016. That's about 6.2 pounds a month. Then for 2017 my goal will be getting down to 150, my final goal.
Keep up the GREAT plan . . . . .and wait until the tying shoes thing isn't a job in itself . . . AMAZING! My other fave revelation is that I can stand, in place, for longer than a quick moment and complete work tasks (viewing stains under the microscope) without hunching over and holding my back in pain. YAY!!!!
I NEVER thought I'd get under 230, EVER. And it's here and I'm so very thankful. Today I'm not so worried about hanging stuff because you've reminded me about what's important . . . .small changes, consistent planning and reaping kick butt rewards!!!!
