WILL CIGNA INSURANCE PAY FOR SKIN REMOVAL SURGERY
Hello, I had gastric bypass surgery 11 years ago and have severe skin overlap on my tummy and my breasts are almost to my knees
I live in Atlanta Ga and have CIGNA HMO insurance. Has anyone gone thru the process of insurance approval and if so, what are the requirements to get this approved.
I know I waited a long time but I wanted to have my children first before having a tummy tuck, etc...
Thank you in advance for any help or information
only the insurance company can answer that.
one way is to try to find a good Plastic surgeon - they typically know what insurance covers that and what does not...

Cigna does not cover any type of skin removal surgery.
The only time I know of any insurance covering any type of skin removal and it was only skin removal no tummy tucks and tightening. Was due to severe infections that the excess skin caused and it was after a year of failed treatments and doctors visits that documented the issues.
My advice is to start saving for the plastics you want done or get a loan.
Best of luck to you.
Cigna covered my panni removal....because i had a rash and the dr sent pictures.
I was denied but just had to show that i had bariatric surgery (which they had covered -- so not sure why) and that my weight loss had ceased for at least six months..
14 pounds lost before surgery. My first ticker is when I hit onderland: this was my goal when I started on this journey. I want to focus on that right now...once I get there I can reevaluate.
My second ticker is my dream goal. Even if I only visit there for a short time, it would be nice to see that number just once. I am pretty sure I'll need plastics to hit this goal.
