I've started Skin Tight now.  Luana's story at the beginning makes me want to cry.  :(  I hope I don't feel that way in 20 more pounds :(

Is it just me, or is Dr. Now looking pretty unhealthy himself?

He has an odd shape to him.  Dyeing his hair and eyebrows black does him no favors.

Wow.  They both had over 30lbs of excess skin removed.

I finally got to watch these on the DVR.  I'm also addicted to this.  This week's new one was pretty good, though.  I love seeing them work really hard to try and be successful.

But I was really interested in the new skin show.  If everything goes well with insurance, I should be having my skin surgery this summer, at just shy of 2 years out for me.  My skin around my middle looks a lot like the guy on the show, so it was really interesting to see what he had to go through.  He lost more than I did, so it was in worse shape than mine, but I have enough that I'm having problems from it.

I don't see the skin show lasting more than a season or two.  It's just not the same as the 600 pound show.

I really liked the skin show too.  I guess it's "research" in the same was 600 lb Life was research for me pre-WLS.

I thought it was fascinating to see just how detached their excess skin was.  Mine isn't like that at all.  Probably because I still have at least 30 pounds to lose, but maybe also because my skin is "tighter."  It'll be interesting to have a plastic surgery consult in a few more years!

I finally got to watch episodes of both shows.

I thought Nikki was fabulous! She really seemed ready and willing to make the changes neccessary. I really hope she continues to do well.

Watching Skintight was more emotionally draining than dealing with my own skin issues. I guess since I knew I'd end up looking like a melting candle, I wasn't that worried about my skin becoming saggy. That's pretty much all I have to say about that.

I just had plastics, after having surgery in 2009 and losing 200 pounds. I went from 333, to 135. Well 135 after plastics. I was 145 when I went down there and removed 10lbs of skin. I had my arms, breasts, lower body lift and thighs. I am SO HAPPY that I did that. It was such a struggle to find clothes, and clothes the fit me right. I was so upset that I lost all this weight as still looked all jacked up. It didn't really bother me until I started going on vacations ( I live in Alaska, so Lots of sweaters! hehe).

All I have to say is, I will take the scars over the skin and I will take the skin over the fat. Even if I knew I could never get plastics, I would still have gastric again and again.

I think people get soooo disappointed with their skin because they do not have realistic expectiations. They keep thinking that that isnt going to happen to them because THEY are going to work out, and THEY are going to use skin firming creams and ect. You need to know that if you have over 100lbs to lose, expect to have skin. I was 19 years old when I had it, a young spring chicken! and my skin was horrid!

I'm kind of obsessed with the shows. I watch 600 lb life as motivation. I don't want to end up like those people and I use it as a reminder to get up off of my couch and move more. Skin Tight is a reminder that I WILL have extra skin. I want to have an idea of what it's going to look like and get tips on how to cover it or Spanx the living crap out of it.
