My 600 lb Life / Skin Tight

Yo Grrrrrrl!  I actually thought about you when I was watching the Skin Tight episode.

My feeling is that Dr. Now is a vascular surgeon who performs WLS.  He also does skin removal for many of his 600 lbs patients.  I don't know how good of a plastic surgeon he is.  I don't think there's a lot of finesse in what he's doing.

I know you researched your plastic surgeon and found someone who did excellent work with bariatric patients.  You look AMAZING

The show is designed for maximum drama to gain viewership.  If they followed many of us, post WLS life would look boring.

I was a little creeped out when they showed the Skin Tight patients the actual skin they removed right after surgery.  But hey, it makes for great TV.

Miss you too!  I'm around, but rarely posting on the main forums.  Sometimes they drive me more insane than I already am

I was creeped out when they showed the removed skin as well!  Also, my surgeon took off like 5 lbs of skin, not 20!  I am shocked if they really had that much skin and fat to remove.

I agree that Dr. Now is a great RNY/VSG surgeon, but I don't think he specializes in plastic surgery like those people needed.  But hey, I can't knock him since he helps people *****ally need WLS.

I am around, but like you, there are quite a few posts I just can't bring myself to comment on.  I don't even let them drive me crazy - I just keep it moving :)

The show totally freaked me out about plastic surgery. Thanks for sharing your experience!

Thank you so much for your input! I hope to have PS sometime in the future and yeah this show really does scare the crap out of  you. I was also thinking though that the Dr. really isn't that great of a plastic surgeon. Anyways thanks again for reassuring the rest of us. I'm going to creep on your profile now and check out your pics. LOLL :D

I can'****ch the shows. I tried to but they made me feel really bad about myself. It brought back way too many reminders of what my life was like.

I feel very sad when I watch it. It can make feel very depressed. I know we have to look at where we came from but sometimes it hurts too much.

Agreed. I don't think I've watched a show that didn't leave me in tears. I am still debating whether I'm going to put myself through another season.

Sometimes I get sucked into it. I want to watch but I don't at the same time. There has been ones that have been happy but others been so sad. I hate when people are so mean.

I like watching the Housewives shows. So not my reality.

I'm "treating" myself to watching them now.  My psych class (5 hours a day) started Wednesday and I deserve a reward.  RIGHT?!

omg, this poor woman whose sister told her that she didn't want her around her kids because her obesity was damaging to them.

I want to smack that sister.  And I'm a pacifist.  :/

This guy just said, "when I started this journey I had no idea I would have loose skin."  Seriously?!  How can you not know this?!
