moving forward!

Hello everyone!

I have my 2 week post op appointment tomorrow. I am feeling better, and finally excited! I cheated and weighed in before I was supposed to (Whoops) but the weight loss excited me and pushed me to choke down those vitamins! Yay for progress!

I have 2 questions. the first is I should be moving to the pured stage tomorrow. I know i can blend chicken, tuna, have cottage cheese etc. I never thought I would be so excited for pured tuna lol. What mayonnaise do you use. And are there any "recipes" anyone could share that makes this stage a little better. I know its probably easier to pre portion things, what did you use to portion things out and keep them?

Also this question is silly, but how do I get the progress thing in my signature.

Thank you!

I use Dukes mayo. It has no added sugar. Check out WWW.theworldaccordingtoeggface.Com for recipes for every stage

Hi there,

you should look up eggface.  Her recipes are amazing.  I am almost 11 months out and use her idea's all the time.

I do a few things- I'm 3 weeks out

Fat free refried beans, added a few tablespoons salsa into the food processor

Canned spam turkey- pureed and heated in the frying pan to crisp it up

pureed green beans as a side

bake salmon and puree with fat free cream cheese

Turkey chili pureed

I also got turkey gravy to make the meats moist

if you look at the world according to egg face she has a page on pureed foods also

Oh- i got light mayo (dukes of course, im from the south)

oh- walmart and other places sell a GLAD brand 1/2 cup with lids in the storage section. super cheap and that way you can portion it out and even put in the freezer/

some mention using ice cube trays but that seems like a hassle to me

I was lucky - I had no pureed food stage - went right to soft food 1-2 meal a day with prot shakes the rest.

That being said, my favorite soft food:  I nukes cottage cheese with a spoonful of spagetti sauce - WLS lasagna!  I ate that and poached flounder for about 2 weeks (prob the same consistency as your pureed stage).  Then was able to add poultry, etc.

That first poached flounder was the best thing I ever ate.  I was not expecting it to taste good, but it did.

Good luck!!

Don't really have much to add than what the others are already saying. But reading about about the pouched flounder being the best...I remember when I got to the new stage and having tuna salad and egg salad and think oh my god this taste so good!!!

I rarely use mayonnaise. Try substituting greek yogurt, or even half yogurt with half mayonnaise.
