How sweet that you love her so much :)   Being a single Mom, far away from my ex, I have had to worry for two lol.  When they start needing other people more than us it does hurt.  I was surprised at how much it stung.  Letting go a little bit at a time makes it easier but I think it is just one of those parts of parenting we have to deal with.  Wishing you both the best!

If you need tips for rearing girls during the teenage years - check Garth Brooks.  He took 10 years off to raise his 3 girls.

One dating rule he had that I liked: Only his daughters drove. so 1-they had to be old enough to drive and 2-the boys needed to be open to girls developing their potential and 3 - if the date went south, his daughters could get home - let the boy have the dime in his shoe.

Best of luck with the transitions ahead.  14 going on 29 is just a saying until it's your 14-year old.  We support you.

Yeah, I might stay away from Blake Shelton's advice right now.

I'm surprised you didn't catch the "dime in his shoe" remark.

What century was I born in?  A phone call only cost a dime, as if you could actually find a pay phone.

I have a pretty big river that runs right behind my home. Does that count?

I thank God everyday that I had boys.  Good luck, Gary.
