weight gain during surgery

Has anyone gained weight during their surgery? I came out of surgery 18lbs heavier than when I went in.

Its water retention....you will loose it within a couple days to a week :) It happened to me too

I gained 11. It took a week to get back even.

6'3" tall, male.

Highest weight was 475. RNY on 08/21/12. Current weight: 198.

M1 -24; M2 -21; M3 -19; M4 -21; M5 -13; M6 -21; M7 -10; M8 -16; M9 -10; M10 -8; M11 -6; M12 -5.

Don't forget, they fill you with fluids right before surgery. No worries, you will pee it all out within the first week.

I had a nurse that walked me to the scale before surgery and our first walk after surgery was back to the same scale. Up 19 pounds and the surgeon laughed and said to go home and pee it out. It was gone in about a week.
