What was the weirdest, strangest, desperate thing you tried to lose weight?

OMG!  I'd totally forgotten about "The Weigh Down" Diet!  A group got together and did this whole course at my church.  If I remember correctly, it was eat when you're physically hungry, but if you get a craving eat it every time you're hungry until you don't crave it anymore.  I never got tired of my cravings.  I think I ate chocolate for about 10 days straight.

OK...I am going to admit this.  When I was 19 I checked out books from the library on bulimia.  I had it in my mind that I would read up on it and I could duplicate it and lose weight.  What the hell was I thinking???  Thank God it didn't work.  My teenage my mind...I wanted to give myself an eating disorder rather than be fat!!!

I never told anyone that

It's really scary the lengths we go to for losing weight.  I had a friend that ended up in the hospital taking 30-50 XLaxs a day

I had to lose weight for approval for my operation....they didn't say what kind of weight.

I wore my lightest clothes (shorts and tank in the dead of winter) to my weigh in appointment.

I did sweat yoga the night before and lost about 5 lbs of water weight! Worst decision of my life--and yet it got me approved! I will never do sweat yoga again. I literally felt like I was dying--palpitations, sweating, nauseous....and it wasn't he kind of "bad feeling" from working out really hard too fast...it was way different.

I am so glad you are OK.  You could have had a heart attack or something.  Wasn't there a story here a few years ago where people died in a sweat lodge of one of the inspirational speakers?

I think my first diet in the '60's was the Stillman or water diet which was a glorified Atkins actually.  It worked pretty well  but eventually gained back even more.  Weigh****chers only left me with an empty wallet and a loss of 4 pounds.  My craziest was acupuncture.  It worked for a while kind of.  Along with fen-phen.  Now that was crazy!

I had not heard of the water diet?  I could retire with all the times I joined WW and bought all the tools to be a winner and only lose a few pounds and like you put it all back on and then some.

OH, GAWD--the Cabbage Soup Diet.  I could have caused Climate change all by myself from the flatulence.
